Acquiring party is said to be Cisco Systems, Inc., or International Business Machines ("IBM") and if anything comes out of these talks, it could be made public as early as September of this year. I don't know about this one, Symantec may be cheap, but they're a heavy load of debt, and a contigent US$1billion courtcase against the IRS. On the other hand, they sure do got a dominance in their market in security and data management.
Like I said, I just heard this over at Starbucks again today by the same couple of guys I saw last time. I don't know if they're just putting out gibberish, or if they're good on their words. Hmmmm....
